MATI CITY, April 4, 2025 – The Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (MIADP) Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) XI Component 2 or Resilient Ancestral Domain Agri-Fisheries Infrastructure launched its component through a 2-day orientation for the Provincial Local Government of Davao Oriental, Local Project Management Implementing Unit (LPMIU), and the Municipality of Tarragona.
“After our extensive social preparation activities through our Component 1, we are now moving forward with the Component 2 activities. We will present the salient features under our operations manual, from site validation up to operations and maintenance,” MIADP RPCO XI Component 2 Head Hazel May Castillon said.

Previously identified by RPCO XI for project implementation, the Ancestral Domain (AD) of Mandaya in Tarragona, Davao Oriental completed and packaged its Ancestral Domain Agriculture Implementation Framework (ADAIF) with the project’s Component 1 last year.
The ADAIF encompasses the AD’s commodity and subproject prioritization. Component 1 or Ancestral Domain Planning and Social Preparation preps the ADs prior to project implementation.
“Diri sa Mandaya AD sa Davao Oriental musunuray na ta sa site validation activities. Naa ko atong CN preparation sa infra, ug nalipay mi kay naa nay unod ang napresent. Meaning, naa nay na-gather nga initial data,” Castillon emphasized.
(For the Mandaya AD of Davao Oriental, we will now be following up with site activities. I was present in the concept note preparation of the infra subprojects and we were glad that there was initial data previously gathered as evidenced by the presentation.)
Aside from Component 2’s orientation, the event also featured geomapping, economic, and social and environmental safeguards discussions as preparation for the AD’s documentary requirements for subproject implementation.
MIADP’s Project Support Office (PSO) also attended the event, represented by Component 2 and environment specialists.

Site Validation
The Mandaya AD proposed a farm-to-market road (FMR) subproject in Brgy. Tubaon, Tarragona, which was validated on-site by the team to assess its feasibility. Validation activities included the proposed FMR’s technical, institutional, social, environment, and economical viability.
Most ADs across Mindanao are located in hinterland areas, and the concreting of FMRs pave the way for agricultural development and economic growth. FMRs facilitate the efficiency in transport and delivery of agricultural produce to existing markets.
