DAVAO CITY, December 20, 2024 – The Department of Agriculture – Mindanao Inclusive Agriculture Development Project (DA-MIADP) Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) XI  conducted its 2024 Year End Assessment and Strategic Planning for 2025 with an aim to streamline project implementation to 6 Ancestral Domains (ADs) across Davao region.

RPCO XI set its sight to 6 ADs in its 6 years of project implementation, including ADs of Blaan and Tagakaulo in Davao Occidental, Mandaya in Davao Oriental, Mangguangan and Ata Manobo in Davao del Norte, Mansaka in Davao de Oro, and Bagobo-Tagabawa in parts of Davao City, Digos City and Bansalan, Davao Del Sur, and portions of Makilala, Cotabato.

“It’s been a year, and RPCO XI has the most number of ADs endorsed so far, with the largest coverage in hectares, that’s why there’s a lot to work on. Now, we need to see where we are in the implementation process and what we will be doing in 2025,” Regional Technical Director (RTD) for Research and Regulations and MIADP RPCO XI Deputy Project Director (DPD) Marila Corpuz, said.

All groups except for the ADs of Mansaka and Bagobo-Tagabawa have fulfilled their commodities identification and subproject prioritization this year.

Meanwhile, Blaan Tagakaulo ICCs/IPs concluded its Joint Technical Review (JTR) of infra subprojects this week, while the Ancestral Domain Agriculture Implementation Framework (ADAIF) for Mandaya ICCs/IPs was adopted by the Davao Oriental Provincial Development Council last December 12.

With a robust social preparation component, MIADP seeks to improve the lingering poverty among IPs in Mindanao with a ground-up, grassroots approach to project implementation. The project aims to sustainably increase agricultural productivity, resiliency and access to markets and services.
